Malaysian Economics Debating Championship Updates

Dear all,

Due to great interest of the participants, we have received request
from debaters to increase the number of teams in this competition. The
commies have had some discussions with our advisors and we are happy
to announce that we have decided to allow each institution to send a
maximum of four teams for this competition.

We already got hold to a good number of local institutions and a
number of non-Malaysian institutions; some with solid debating
background and some are new to the debating scene. As such, we are
confident that MEDC will be an interesting debate ground.

All in all, a quality and interesting debate is always
our main concern. So in the rare case that more than two teams for an
institution qualify to the final, selection will be made by our wise
and just adjudication team so that only two teams per institution can
break into the Final.

In order to support the development of aspiring young
debaters, we have decided that the fees for team 3 and team 4 reduced
to MYR 90.00 (without accommodation) per participant as opposed to the
original rate at MYR 125.00. The rate for participation with
accommodation at our official hotel, the Dynasty Hotel however, stays
at MYR 225.00.

Fees with accommodation per participant:

· please be informed that the accommodation provided will be at Hotel
Dynasty, for check-in on 18 August and check-out on 20 August 2007.
· If the participants arrive earlier than 18 Aug / depart later than
20 Aug, and want the organizer to arrange for accommodation other than
previously stated, we may do so if the participants give their details
within reasonable time, with the following rate:
- MYR 15.00 per night for stay-in the university's dormitory
- MYR 140.00 per night for stay-in Hotel Dynasty
